About Us

Founded by a lifelong collector and stylist, The Green Room curates and preserves garments that bridge fashion history and contemporary style. What began as a teenage reselling venture evolved into a personal archive while studying Fashion History and Film at Parsons School of Design. Years spent working as a stylist and director deepened an appreciation for the craftsmanship, silhouette, and storytelling embedded in each piece. Our collection draws from costume houses, private archives, and designers, as well as countless conversations with elders and lifelong collectors, with a particular devotion to vintage performancewear and costume.

The name The Green Room nods to both the stage, and to the founder’s love of plants and the color itself. What began as a small home business has since grown into a full-fledged operation housed in a warehouse in Brooklyn, New York, a working archive and restoration space where every garment is carefully catalogued, photographed, and prepared for its next life.

Our Ethos

We believe clothing is a living record. Our work centers on preservation, restoration, and documentation, ensuring that each garment’s history is honored and extended through responsible rehoming. We hold deep reverence for vintage textiles: the intricate lacework, hand-finished hems, and quiet artistry that embody generations of women’s labor and creative devotion. These details, often overlooked or forgotten, are testaments to the patience, ingenuity, and skill of their makers.

We strive to bridge scholarship and sensuality, pairing museum-level care with the joy of personal wear, and bringing education about mending techniques and the materials that made these garments survive so many years. Each piece is a small act of resistance against a world of disposability. We aim to celebrate the craftsmanship of the past while inspiring a more intentional relationship with fashion in the present.
